Clothes Make the Man and Positive Momentum were both conceived and developed by David B. Eppner David was inspired by a realization that there was a need for “new ideas and imagination” in the human services field. After consulting with friends, family members, and people in the nonprofit community, David developed Positive Momentum and from there Clothes Make the Man. The Clothes Make the Man program is based on the belief that how we appear to others, and how we think we appear directly affects our confidence in ourselves. Further, by aiding men (and women) in gaining successful, career-oriented employment, we move people from being a “tax-user” to a productive, self-sufficient member of our communities.
It takes a lot of very talented and very dedicated people and generous companies to enable us to produce the quality services we provide. Clothes Make the Man is a program of Positive Momentum and as such uses some of the same staff.
The Clothes Make the Man team includes:
• The staff, which is directly responsible for the overall management of the organization and implementation of all programs. Further Positive Momentum, staff coordinate organizational fundraising and other events, and are the primary representatives of the programs.
• The Board of Directors, which retains overall legal and fiscal management of the Positive Momentum organization.
• Affilate Referring Agencies , whose diverse members from the business, civic and educational community provide valuable input and guidance on key strategic and operational issues.
• Our Strategic Partners; non-profit organizations that provide services and programs that complement and supplement and provide greater value to the programs we provide for low-income men and women.
• Our Sponsors, which provide crucial financial, in-kind and operational support to the organization, and allow us to provide the types of programs we do.
